Glazed Security Doors
PS1000 Classic

Responding to the need for light to be brought into foyer areas the classic PS1000 design combines strength with light transmittance. The portcullis design of the glazing means that the door cannot be breached, even if the glazing is removed by extreme force. The fact that the door itself is made from steel ensures that the construction of the door is stronger than any other material. The door profiles are seamlessly welded together to give added strength to the corners and create a perfectly professional finish.

Glazing
It is a general principal that the less glazing in a door the stronger it will be. This is true, but we cannot underestimate the advantage of having glazing in security social housing situations. Glazing allows people on the inside to perceive a threat on the outside. Hooligans who like to gather in groups prefer not to be ‘on view’ and in areas where there is a lot of light and illumination. The PS1000 door glazing system allows for alternative glazing panels to suit the particular threat level. Toughened or laminated glass is good for lower risk areas, but on schemes where vandalism is a particular problem then polycarbonate would be recommended. The narrow glazing pattern of the classic PS1000 means that the panels are rigid and will not break. Other panels to use in lieu of glazing include perforated plate and solid metal panels. Variations are available on the PS1000 design where a softer approach is required. This normally entails the glazing panels being larger than the PS1000 classic.

Stainless Steel Door designs
Pensher Skytech has developed a stainless steel controlled entry doors system as an opulent alternative to powder coated finishes. One version of this system is to clad mild steel profiles with stainless steel. This stainless can be in a variety of finishes including pressed raised profile finishes such as are available from Rimex. The other stainless steel system uses stainless steel profiles welded together and dressed to provide an extremely strong and low maintenance finish

Specialist Designs
The Pensher design team are flexible when it comes to design. Steel is a very versatile material, so elements such as wrought iron can be incorporated into the design to give a traditional or heritage effects. A new development is the introduction of digitally printed photographic designs on the door panels. This has been tried with great success on schemes in inner London, and has the effect of reducing graffiti as there are no blank or open areas to write on.

Controlled Entry
Controlled entry is often a requirement in communal housing situations. The door needs to be released by the resident from a position away from the door. The resident is often issued with special proximity keys or token to release the door. This is a typical scenario for the Pensher Skytech door. The controlled entry panel can be located in the side screen of the door-set, and all wire ways are concealed in the hollow frame construction.

Magnetic Locking
Pensher Skytech was a pioneer in the use of slim-line magnets in controlled entry locking. These magnets have no moving parts for vandals to destroy. They have extremely high holding forces and give a positive locking action with none of the rattle associated with electronic keeps and motorized deadbolts.

Anti-finger nip
Pensher Skytech were the first security door company to develop hinge designs to prevent nipping of children’s fingers. The newest device incorporates the use of a continuous hinge which is situated in such a way that even when the door is closed there is a gap which will not trap fingers.

Automatic operators for the Disabled
It is essential that the disabled have easy access to public buildings. Pensher Skytech have adopted the use of a leading swing door operator, where this is a requirement. This highly reliable operator interfaces with controlled entry systems to offer a completely safe device for all users.

Higher Level Security Doors
PSF 1

The PSF 1 is a solid steel door-set system designed to withstand high levels of abuse and attempts at burglary. Recommended for areas where glazing is not required. Though vision panels can be included. This system has withstood many impact tests including series of live ram raid attacks, and several sledgehammer and various tool attacks. The PSF1 comprises steel profiles for the frame and door edges, and a solid composite core with steel plates inside and out. The PSF1 system can be fitted with any type of ironmongery depending on the application and threat level scenario. Anti nip hinges are also available with this system.
